IMPORTANT MEMORIAL UPDATES.

**August 2025:** The extreme heat and dry conditions this past July have taken a toll on the memorial embankment grass, resulting in severe damage. Despite my efforts, the grass is burnt, and maintaining a tidy presentation of the memorial cairn and plaques is crucial.

I am grateful to Mr. Paul Clark from Downham Market, a dedicated gardener, who has volunteered to help restore the grass and plants—a big thank you to Paul for his care in this matter and attention to detail.

We kindly request that visitors to the memorial refrain from cleaning the stainless steel plaques, as this can damage the delicate protective coating. I appreciate your understanding.

Work to remove the out-of-memorial embankment and clean the plaques will start on Sunday, 31 August 2025, and work on the embankments is expected to be completed by October 2025. Your support, whether through donations or volunteering, is vital to preserving this memorial. I appreciate your commitment to this cause.

**September  2025:** A big thank you to everyone who has managed to support the Upkeep of the memorial with a donation on the GoFundMe page.
